Hollow core elements are primarily used as intermediate decks in shops, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels,
multi-story car parks, and industrial premises, but are also used in residential buildings.

Large spans reduce the number of load bearing structures, which results in flexible layout solutions.

Using hollow core elements enables the quick erection of a building's shell.

Hollow core elements are prestressed with a module width of 1200 mm and optional length. The length
depends only on the load, dimensions and amount of reinforcement. Cutting elements down to the
required width is done using a diamond tipped saw. The element's underside is cast against a level
steel mould, while the upper side is somewhat more uneven and suitable for casting onto or plastering.
Variation in the height of the element can be offered to meet various requirements regarding load bearing
capacity/spans, fire, environmental, or other special requirements. 
 

Grooving and imbedding in HD elements should be reduced to a minimum. It is easiest to cut smaller holes and grooves onsite, while larger holes and shafts should be incorporated using transitions. Transitions may reduce an element's load bearing capacity. We recommend you stay in touch with our construction department throughout the project phase.
