The precast division buys the industrial aera Kasen in Uddevalla from the local community. This makes an investment of 130 million SEK.
The negotiations between Kynningsrud Prefab and the Uddevalla local community about acquiring this area has been going on for quite a long time now. Finally, we have come to an agreement and Kynningsrud Prefab will be taking over Kasen during springtime 2007.
Kasen industrial area contains of 13 hectare ground with about 33 000 m2 buildings, that used to be workshops and offices of the Uddevalla dockyard.
In 1997, Kynningsrud Prefab started the production of concrete elements in Uddevalla. The company employes at the time 115 co-workers, of whom 65 are working in the factory. We even employ a large amount of subcontractors and deliverers in the local surroundings.
In Norway, the remaining 50 employees are mainly working on construction, sales and assembling. The Divisions turnover has constantly increased since we started up nine years ago and has now reached 225 million kroner.
Harald Kynningsrud, Chairman of the Board, says that Uddevalla civil community welcomed him very well, as he wanted to start up the production nine years ago. Because of competent and loyal co-workers, the company has developed very well. The order reserve of 225 million kroner means that Kynningsrud Prefab has to invest and enlarge the production capacity.
During the next years, Kynningsrud Prefab is planning to invest 130 million kroner in new production equipment and upgrading the production buildings. This means about 80-150 new positions within the Kasen industrial area, most of them within Kynningsrud Prefab.
Kynningsrud Prefab is part of the KynningsrudGroup, together with our Cranes and Foundations Division. The total turnover of the whole group will this year be over 900 million kroner. The Group employes about 400 co-workers in both Sweden and Norway. The head office is situated in Halden.
Division Precast ist mainly working in Western-Sweden and in the eastern part of Norway. The Cranes and Foundations Division has a larger market in both Norway and Sweden.
