The board

Kynningsrud started in 1946 when builder Bjarne Kynningsrud started his own company to build housing when the country was to be rebuilt after the Second World War. Bjarne died in the early 70s, and his eldest son Harald, aged just 21, took over the company, which had already expanded operations with a building assembly department, and they had bought their first mobile cranes. 

Under Harald’s management, the development of the company really took off. Kynningsrud became a large and important player in both the production and assembly of prefabricated buildings, foundations, property development and, last but not least, a supplier of lifting services with all types of mobile cranes in addition to special transport. 

Since 2011, his son Pål has managed the group’s development in collaboration with the board. Today, the group comprises businesses within the Mobile Crane services, Property development, Construction, Residential development and Finance divisions, and has the whole of Scandinavia as its catchment area.

Kynningsrud is today mainly owned by Harald Kynningsrud and his children Eva, Pål and Lars. In addition to the main owners, Ivar Kynningsrud, manager of the former Kynningsrud Fundamentering until 2017, is board member for the group.
