The board

Bj. Kynningsrud was founded in 1946 when master builder Bjarne Kynningsrud established his own company to build homes as the country was being rebuilt after the Second World War. Bjarne passed away in 1970, and his eldest son Harald took over the company at the age of 21.

Under Harald’s leadership, development gained momentum and Kynningsrud grew into a large and important player within mobile cranes, foundation works, concrete elements and real estate.

Today, the Group comprises businesses within the divisions of Cranes, Real Estate, Construction, Housing and Finance, with Scandinavia as its market area. The Group’s head office is located in Halden.

Kynningsrud is more than 90% owned by Chairman of the Board Harald Kynningsrud together with his children Eva, Pål and Lars. Pål Kynningsrud has served as Group CEO since 2011.
